Frequently Asked Questions
How long will Backlitdisplay.com prints last?
We only use archival grade material. The inks that we use last up to 75+ years indoors and under glass. Print stability will vary according to display conditions, light intensity, humidity, and atmospheric conditions. For maximum print life, display all prints under glass and use UV protecting lamination. Most display units are laminated with high pressure UV, for long lasting color life.
What if I am not happy with the result?
If you are not happy with the finished product, we will not charge you for it. Simply return the print within a week, and we will refund you any charges. For large orders, we will supply you with a test print upon request, before we start processing the batch order.
What materials are you using?
Print: We are using a day and night viewable high quality, archival grade media. When ambient light is available this material can be viewed with reflected light to conserve energy. The finish is water and scratch resistant, matte and the opacity is around 60%. We are using archival grade Ultrachrome pigment inks, and a full color printing system (8 colors) for best results.
What is Duratrans?
Duratrans, meaning “durable transparency”, is a generic term for the Kodak-approved process by which Duratrans material is fabricated into graphics or posters for backlit displays. Today, the term Duratrans is widely used to describe any backlit print material.
Backlitprint.com does not utilize the Kodak–approved process as described above. Our process yields a higher quality result according to our tests for a lot less money. See our client testimonials on our home page for more details.
